Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists complete a full assessment of a person’s sensory, motor, developmental, environmental, cultural, and behavioral factors that could be daily living.  Occupational therapists are health care professionals who work with people of all ages with various health issues. They work to adapt surroundings and tasks to help people live better with disabilities and recover from injuries or illnesses.   At Riverview, we have a private kitchen where our clients and residents can practice improving their mobility after an illness. Therapy at Riverview Retirement Community improves confidence in completing normal daily living activities.  For instance, in our kitchen you can practice doing the dishes, cooking and baking, and putting away groceries.  We want our residents here at Riverview Retirement to continue to be independent and active as long as they can.
